A migration to the COYO Cloud is possible from all On-Premises versions, but a return to On-Premises is not possible afterwards.
Please contact us via your account management contact person if you are interested in a migration. Alternatively, if you do not have a direct account management contact, you can submit a ticket via our service desk.
In this ticket we will discuss the first steps regarding a migration. At the very beginning, this includes a preparatory meeting between your technical contact, our technician and a contact from our Customer Success Team. This is followed by a test migration to a demo environment before the official migration is carried out.
It must be checked whether the COYO Cloud can be reached from your internal network without restrictions, e.g. through a firewall or a proxy. A list of IP addresses can be found in our Campus (Permanent IP addresses in the COYO Cloud).
Before migration, we recommend testing external connections for authentication (SSO) and user provisioning (LDAP) in a demo instance. We will provide you with this instance during the planning process.
There must be enough disk space available on your current COYO server, as we will create an export file containing all data from COYO. We also need SSH access to your COYO server for the duration of the migration.
Furthermore you should already think about which COYO URL (*.coyocloud.com) you want to have afterwards. We can reserve this accordingly, if it is not already taken.
The duration of the whole process depends on the data size of your COYO and the speed of the transfer. About 90% of the data consists of the file store of MongoDB and contains all documents of your COYO.
For an export of ~75GB we expect a downtime of one business day. This is the standard size of a COYO.
What changes after a migration?
URL / Accessibility
You should inform your employees and colleagues that there will be a downtime of the platform during which it cannot be used and point out the new URL (*.coyocloud.com).
If you are interested in continuing to use your old domain, you can order the Custom Domain Add-on from us. Please mention this directly during the planning process.
Via the status page we will inform you in time about updates or about the current state of the COYO Cloud. We therefore recommend to subscribe to the page. You will then receive automated e-mails with announcements about version updates, maintenance work and other information.
All customers in the COYO Cloud are on the current version. It is not possible to select it. You can find information about the backup structure in our cloud here (Backups in the COYO Cloud).
All contents remain.
Optionally, we can perform an adjustment of internal links to the new URL via the database. This refers to contents of widgets, e.g. buttons and texts of articles. An adjustment of posts on the timeline is not possible. There is no guarantee that all links have been exchanged.
