We offer you the option of globally rolling out the COYO app in your company. Depending on your digital infrastructure, there are various solutions for this.
We’ll take a particular look at four scenarios below. A combination of processes is naturally possible.
It makes no difference whether you have your COYO App customized as a white-label or you want to use the COYO theme. Our apps generally end up in the corresponding stores, i.e. the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. If you have a COYO white-label app, we’ll also take care of how the apps get into the stores. By doing this, we’ll save you time-consuming accreditation as a software publisher on Apple and Google.
Note:
We’ve put together an example for you. Below you’ll find the example of our fictional "Fruit Company".
Note:
To keep things simple, we are only referring to EMM services (enterprise mobility management) when we talk about managed devices in this article. This also includes various other versions, such as MAM or MDM.
Android BYOD
This BYOD (bring your own device) process, valid for private or unmanaged devices, is the easiest: Your white-label app will be available in the Google Play Store, like the standard COYO app. Your employees independently download the app via their regular Google Play Store login.
With a direct link to the download, you can inform your colleagues about the app and leave it up to them whether they install the app on their smartphones. A search in the Play Store naturally also leads directly to the download.
We create the Play Store presence according to your specifications, which includes, among other things, the upload of the app itself, the example pictures, and texts. Please note that COYO is always stated as the owner and manufacturer of the app. This is necessary to automatically apply upcoming updates to you and your users. Your white-label app will also be automatically updated with every update to the COYO app. The updates are available on the devices just like all other app updates from the Google Play Store.
iOS BYOD
After creating the COYO white-label app, we’ll make the app available in the private Apple App Store. In order to access this hidden presence and download the app, your users need an URL.
Note:
The Apple App Store policies do not permit a regular (public) app store presence for user-defined apps. The COYO white-label solution falls under this category.
From a technical viewpoint, the installation of the app and the update process are exactly the same as for other apps on iOS devices. The only difference is in how the users find the app: It is not possible to search in the app store. A download is only possible with the URL. We also always publish all COYO app updates for the white-label apps, which leads to automatic updates.
Android managed devices
The publication of the COYO white-label app for managed devices is identical to the regular approval procedure via the Google Play Store. The difference lies in the installation process. To install your COYO white-label app (or the regular COYO app) on all devices in your company, you can connect the app to your EMM service. You may need a Google Apps for Work account for this. Via your EMM service, you can also customize EMM policies for your white-label app. If you manage the company devices globally, you can directly roll out each update of the COYO app via your EMM service to your colleagues.
Tip:
You can both roll out your white-label app to all colleagues with company devices via EMM and also provide the option of a voluntary download.
Note:
The COYO app is compatible with most EMM providers. To find out whether your EMM provider is supported, you are welcome to test it in advance using the standard app from COYO or our Fruit Company from the Google Play Store.
iOS managed devices
Similar to the BYOD process, we create the app for you and make it available via the Apple App Store with the Apple Business Manager or Apple VPP.
Instead of your colleagues now downloading the app via the URL, you can roll out the COYO app directly to all colleagues via your EMM service.
You can provide configurations of the app directly from your EMM provider. We make all of the updates available to you via the Apple App Store. Your users will be notified about updates in the Apple App Store as usual and can either start these themselves or wait until they’re downloaded automatically.
