Your COYO is on the brink of being launched and some users have already been set up in COYO in order to create content. You now want to connect a user directory, e.g. an Active Directory. In this article, we’ll explain to you how you convert local users into LDAP users.

1. First, your COYO requires an active user directory in COYO. You can find instructions on that here. 
   
   
2. The remote user accounts for the existing local users should ideally not yet exist in COYO. If you’ve already imported users, it’s recommended to anonymize them (if they’re not yet used), as it isn’t possible to unite the accounts. However, be sure to delete the right accounts. 
   
   
3. In the user directory, enter the respective remote user ID per user. 
   The value that you define as the remote user ID connects the COYO users with the LDAP user accounts. 
   
   If you’ve entered e.g. the Active Directory attribute "objectGUID" as the user ID, the configuration for the Active Directory user "Robert Lang" would look as follows:
4. The user accounts are connected when the user directory is successfully synchronized.
