To make sure every colleague feels comfortable in their Digital Home, their own language is naturally also part of that. COYO offers you the option of translating posts and articles. Before you look at the technical matters, we recommend you read about the scope of functions for multilanguage in COYO.

How can multilanguage be activated?
Multilanguage must first be activated in Administration under "General settings". By doing this, you activate that (authorized) users can translate certain content in COYO into other languages (e.g. blog articles).

If you prefer automated translations you need our COYO Mulit-language add-on. Open a ticket in our Service Desk to receive a quotation.
You can activate the available and required languages in Administration under "Languages". You can now also create translations and customize formulations for all of the languages that you have activated. Please note that all translations are entered directly into Administration.

In order to use multilanguage in full, you finally also have to activate the translations on the page. Either directly when creating the page or later on under "Settings". At the top right under the button "Activate translations", you can once again select all languages that are relevant for the respective page.
You then also have the opportunity to publish in various languages in the blog, wiki and content apps.
This means you can, for instance, create your blog articles as usual. Once you have finished writing them, simply select the next language and insert the text in the corresponding language. For translations, you need to get actively involved yourself.
Your employees will see the article in the language that they have selected in their profile. You can thus provide your employees with company information in their language based on their location.
By the way, this option is not available to you in communities. Communities represent a working space for projects. Within this project space, the employees decide between themselves which language they will communicate in.
Can timelines have different language settings?
All timelines make use of specific language variables. The language in which they are displayed depends on the user settings. If you have activated several languages, every user can have the timeline displayed in the language of their choice. With the help of automatic translation, your colleagues can also translate all posts.
Are the words in the header image automatically translated if an employee uses another language?
No. This header is an image file and so it’s not altered automatically. Here you need to create different themes with corresponding image files in the Administration. You can then have these displayed to your employees in other locations via group memberships in COYO.
