Do you urgently need opinions from your colleagues but don’t want to ask them individually? No problem, just create a survey in Haiilo. This gives you a direct way to gather responses from your colleagues clearly in one place. You have two options here:
- The poll widget with closed questions
- The form app with open and closed questions
Closed questions with the poll widget
With the help of the poll widget, you can easily create a closed question. Depending on where you publish the survey, you will also be determining who will be able to take part in the survey. If all of your colleagues should take part, you should position the survey in a public place in your digital home.
The widget can be set very easily. You define a question, add further specification in a subtitle if necessary, and create various possible answers.
Via the advanced settings, you can also set whether participation is anonymous, how many answers the user can give, and whether the results are displayed. If not, you can take a look at the result under "Result".

The participant simply adds a check mark next to their preferred answer option and you will see the participants’ answers straight away. It’s this quick and easy to gather opinions with the poll widget.

Open and closed questions with the form app
If you want to go into greater depth with your survey and perhaps want to combine several open and closed questions, we recommend using the form app.
Just like in a conventional form, you also have a free hand here and can ask as many questions as you like and generate fields to be completed. This gives you the opportunity to gather information about various facets of a question at the same time or combine several questions on a topic. The knowledge gained using this type of survey is broader and deeper. You can also see which answer comes from whom.
When creating your survey with the form app, you can combine the individual fields however you like and enter your questions by hand. One special function here: Participants in your survey can mark other users who they want to suggest to complete the form. This is especially helpful if the survey focuses on topic-specific questions and experts in a field are sought. This allows you to combine and deepen your knowledge and produce high-quality solutions. You can also find out more about possible settings in the article on the form app.

The results of the survey can be found as an overview with the name and department of the users. You can look at all of the answers once again here and, if necessary, make comparisons and draw conclusions. It’s a rather analytical and qualitative tool that helps you to maintain an overview. You can export the results of the completed forms.

Is it possible to add a survey to a timeline post?
You can’t create a survey on a timeline. We recommend the poll widget for this. This gives you a very good opportunity to position a survey prominently: The header on homepages is a good possibility as this is the initial starting point in the interface.
If this isn’t an option: In a teaser widget, important elements can be promoted with attention-grabbing pictures, then a link can be added to the survey, created with the form app.
