We offer all of those responsible from Corporate Communications the opportunity to position important pages in such a way that they can best be noticed by users.
... for pages
Pages are the classic and most important element within a social intranet. Here is the area for content management: The pages are used to inform users about all important updates and provide further content about the company. To make sure this content reaches users, it’s possible to make the displaying of pages mandatory. We refer to this as auto-subscribe.
Tip:
An important point here is to provide users with information that is really important and not to overwhelm them. As a result, auto-subscribe should only be used on pages with care and only set for especially important pages!
... setting
How can you set this configuration for a page? Really easily: in the page settings. As a page admin, you can choose between the following settings:
What effect does auto-subscribe have?
- All those who auto-subscribe to this page receive automatic updates, e.g. about new blog or timeline posts.
- The users have no way to unsubscribe from these pages.
- Pages with auto-subscriptions are always displayed first at the top of the page overview.
- On the corresponding page, users receive the notice: "automatically subscribed".
- If the auto-subscription is subsequently deactivated, this has no effect on the current existing subscriptions. Each user keeps the active subscription until it is manually terminated.
What about communities?
Communities are voluntary group rooms for project teams, departments or interest groups. There, your users work together, interact, and organize their everyday work. Depending on visibility, users can join voluntarily or are specifically invited to a community.
In short: There are no auto-subscriptions here as membership is based on the job and interests of the users.
What about colleagues?
By voluntarily following other users, you are always shown their latest news on your timeline (e.g. posts, "Shares"). This allows you to keep up to date on their activities and expands your flow of information. The idea behind this is that every user on Haiilo decides for themselves who they follow – based on interests and relevance for their everyday work. This gives you the chance to gradually expand your network and fill your user interface with life.
There are not currently any plans to provide a function to automatically follow all users in Haiilo.
Tip:
Have you already seen our widgets? With the "New colleague" widget or "Do you know?" widget, Haiilo offers you the option of becoming aware of (new) colleagues.
