Haiilo can be reached at any time, from any place! Whether on a laptop, smartphone, or tablet – the entire Haiilo user interface is optimized for mobile use and offers you direct access to company information.
Older and less powerful devices or slow data networks often present a
challenge here. To improve the user experience, we thus recommend
optimizing the
Homepage(s) for mobile use and hiding performance-intensive elements.
Which elements are performance-intensive?
The guideline is: graphics, pictures, videos, and elements that load background information require large volumes of data.
So, concentrate on the essentials. Ask yourself the following question:
What relevant information do the employees need if they’re using Haiilo on a mobile device?
How can you optimize the Homepage?
The good news first: You don’t need to create a separate mobile Homepage. You can optimize the same Homepage for the mobile view by hiding elements there.
In the mobile version, users generally need a short greeting and the Timeline for updates to give them a quick overview of the news. All other elements from Haiilo can be accessed in the app via the menu at the top left.
Let’s look at an example of what this kind of mobile optimization could look like.
Example
- Activate the editing of the homepage by actively accessing the respective homepage
and select the option "Edit view".
-
You can set individually whether each widget on the Homepage should be displayed in the mobile version. To do this, hover over the widget to open the options. An icon of a mobile device with a strike-through also appears. Click on the icon to hide the respective widget (see screenshot).
-
Once you click on the element, the icon turns dark blue, and an extra warning bar incl. the message:
"This widget is hidden on mobile devices." appears on top of the widget.
-
Perform this process for all other elements that should not be displayed in the mobile view.

If the hide icon has a darb blue background and the extra warning bar is displayed, the widget is not shown in the mobile view:

One last thing: Don’t forget to save! This secures your changes to the layout.
In this example, only the welcome widget, the dividing line widget, and the Timeline are activated. The mobile view looks as follows:
