Why the change?
Many customers in our user community wanted to improve the rich text editor (RTE) - our product owner and our development team found a radical and consistent solution when it came to checking the implementation: We're betting on a new editor that you'll now get. You also want to contribute to the improvement of COYO and spread your ideas? Have a look at our user community and give our product owner feedback.
What has changed?
Compared to the previous editor, it is now easier to add, move and edit videos, pictures and tables. Additionally you have improved navigation options through anchor links and linked pictures.
What kind of editor was implemented?
The new editor is based on the Froala Editor, a javascript based WYSIWYG HTML editor. That means: you see directly which inputs you make and these will be converted into the usual html format in the background.
How does the new RTE work?
Good to know: all previously known functions are available as usual, but some elements work differently and are no longer in the usual place. We would like to explain to you here what you can do with the new RTE!
How does the new RTE look?
At first sight it's not that different: you still have a text field with different possibilities to format the entered text differently and to add additional elements.

Where do I find the standard formats?
All common and known styles can be found in the upper bar:
- Standard format for texts: Text formatting functions (bold, italic, underlined and strikethrough text)
- Advanced formatting: text size, styles, style sheets and color formatting
- Structuring text elements: Paragraph alignment, enumerations and indented text sections are possible.
- Separators
Which additional formats can I use?
- Links: internal or external
- Anchor links for structuring very long texts
- Attachments: you can attach different types of documents and get a short concise URL with file abbreviation
- Images directly in the text and easily editable
- Videos via link or direct upload
- Tables including format options
What are anchor links?
Anchor links allow you to create a kind of digital table of contents, like in a book. Our recommendation: write the text first and then add the anchors!
Mark the corresponding heading, add an anchor and choose a meaningful and recognizable name for the section.
Mark the corresponding heading, add an anchor and choose a meaningful and recognizable name for the section.

Create an outline by selecting the corresponding word and adding a link - select the correct option from the list of anchors and add the link.
Info
Anchors will only work this way within the same rich text editor. If you want to use an anchor from a rich text editor in another rich text editor, then you must access the code view of the RTE and copy the anchor from there.
Intelligent recognition for Word
As soon as you copy and paste text from Word, a module appears that allows you to easily decide whether you want to copy the text with or without formatting.

Which options do I have for images?
Images are now even easier to edit - just click on the image and you can change the size, orientation and background information. You can also adjust the shape, add a description to the image, link to other elements based on the image or set an anchor.

Which options do I have for tables?
The most important option for tables is the title line - if you add it, a new title line is added. You can also expand or shrink the table, change formats and customize elements.
